Rug Checker for Solana & Pump.fun

Paste a token address to check it for rug risk before you buy. The rug check reads the token straight from the chain: who can still mint or freeze it, who holds the supply, how much the dev wallet kept and whether insiders bought in the creation block.

What the rug check looks at

Sell test
A test sale of $50 is quoted through Jupiter without trading. No route or a huge loss means you may not be able to get out — the classic honeypot.
Liquidity
Liquidity that is tiny next to the market cap means a few sells can crash the price, whatever the chart says.
Mint authority
If it is still active, the creator can print new tokens at any moment and dilute everyone who bought.
Freeze authority
An active freeze authority can lock your tokens in your wallet so you cannot sell.
Token-2022 extensions
Permanent delegates, transfer fees and transfer hooks let a creator take tokens or tax every sale.
Metadata lock
Mutable metadata lets the creator swap the name, ticker and image after you buy.
Top 10 holders
When ten wallets hold most of the supply, a few sells are enough to crash the price.
Dev wallet
A creator holding a large share can exit into the buyers who came after them.
Dev history
Every other token the dev wallet launched, and how many of them are still worth anything. Serial launchers whose coins all died are the clearest warning there is.
Linked holders
Where each top holder got its first SOL. When several 'different' wallets were funded by the same source, it is usually one person holding far more than it looks.
Fresh wallets
Top holders that were created in the last day and have almost no history are typical sniper and insider wallets.
Early snipers
Wallets that bought in the three blocks right after launch — fast enough to be bots — and how much they still hold.
Block-0 bundle
Wallets that bought in the creation block got in before anyone else and are the usual source of a dump.

How to read the rug risk score

Low
No active authorities, supply spread across many wallets, no bundle still holding.
Medium
Concentrated holders, a sizable dev wallet or mutable metadata. Size your buy with that in mind.
High
An active mint or freeze authority, a risky extension, or a block-0 bundle still sitting on supply.

Common rug pulls on Solana

Mint rug
The creator mints a huge amount of new tokens and sells them, sending the price to zero. Blocked when mint authority is revoked.
Freeze rug
Buyers' tokens are frozen so only the creator can sell. Blocked when freeze authority is revoked.
Supply dump
Wallets that hold a large share — the dev, insiders or a block-0 bundle — sell into new buyers. This is the most common rug on Pump.fun.
Liquidity pull
On tokens with their own pool, the creator removes the liquidity. Pump.fun tokens trade on a bonding curve and then PumpSwap, so this does not apply in the same way.

Rug checking Pump.fun tokens

Every Pump.fun token is created with mint and freeze authority already revoked, so a Pump.fun rug check is really a holder check. The questions that matter are how much the dev kept, how concentrated the top wallets are and whether a group of wallets bought the launch in block 0 and is still holding.

The bonding curve and trading pools are excluded from the holder numbers — they hold tokens for trading, not for a person who can dump them.

Dev wallet check and linked holders

The rug check finds the wallet that created the token and lists the other tokens it launched, with their market cap today. One launch is normal. Dozens of launches that all went to zero is a pattern, not bad luck.

It then traces the first SOL each top holder ever received. Exchanges fund thousands of unrelated wallets, so very busy funders are ignored. What is left are groups of holders set up from the same private wallet — a way to hide how much of the supply one team really controls.

Questions

What is a rug checker?

A rug checker reads a token's on-chain settings and holders and flags the ways the creator or insiders could take buyers' money. This one checks mint and freeze authority, risky Token-2022 extensions, metadata, top holders, the dev wallet and buying in the creation block.

Is this rug checker free?

Yes. Paste any Solana token address and check it as often as you like. No account and no wallet connection.

Why do Pump.fun tokens always pass the authority checks?

Pump.fun revokes mint and freeze authority for every token it creates, so those two checks pass by design. For Pump.fun coins the real risk sits in who holds the supply — the dev wallet, a few large holders and wallets that bought in block 0.

Does a low rug risk score mean a token is safe?

No. It means none of the on-chain risks this tool can see were found. A token can still fail because nobody wants to buy it, the team abandons it or the price simply falls. Treat the score as one check before you buy, not a guarantee.

What does the risk score count?

Each red flag and warning adds points. An active mint or freeze authority or a risky extension weighs the most, followed by a bundle that still holds, heavy holder concentration and a large dev wallet. Low, Medium and High are bands on that total.

How does the rug checker find linked wallets?

For each of the top holders it looks up the very first transaction that funded the wallet. Holders funded by the same private wallet are grouped together. Funding from very busy wallets such as exchanges is ignored, because it says nothing about who controls the wallet.

Should I check a token more than once?

Yes. Holders and the dev wallet change every minute on a new launch. Check again right before you buy.
